20,000 Outdoor Enthusiasts Speak Out to Stop the Public Land Heist
Public lands make America great. From the dramatic vistas of Half Dome in Yosemite Valley to the Cascades' alpine lakes to Yellowstone's powerful geysers to the startlingly green waters of the Colorado River, some of the most beautiful places in the world are owned by all of us.
In the last year, a movement to transfer - and ultimately privatize and sell off - public lands has been gaining momentum across the country. Outdoor Alliance has been tracking this issue closely, and gathering champions in the outdoor advocacy and business worlds to speak out to protect public lands.
Since the summer, you've helped gather over 20,000 supporters to protect public lands, and amassed thousands of stories of what public lands mean to you. Thank you for your efforts to protect our public lands and to share this issue far and wide.
Thanks to you, we've been able to share hundreds of your stories with lawmakers in the West and in Washington, DC. We've amassed victories like the nation's first-ever Public Lands Day Bill, stopped land seizures in places like Puerto Rico and Wyoming, and gathered leaders in nonprofit and industry to share their concerns about the public land heist with lawmakers.
