Outdoor Alliance is made up of ten activity-specific member organizations. Each of those organizations has memberships available to people who support their work. Individuals—either through being members of our member organizations or through direct financial support—play a critical role in supporting our work and in advocating across the country to advance strong recreation policy and to protect public lands and waters.
Access Fund
Access Fund is the national advocacy organization that leads and inspires the climbing community toward sustainable access and conservation of the climbing environment. Access Fund represents more than 8 million climbers nationwide in its work to protect and conserve the land, fight for sustainable access, and build a community of inspired advocates.
ACA | Canoe-Kayak-SUP-Raft-Rescue
Founded in 1880, The American Canoe Association (ACA) is a national nonprofit organization serving the broader paddling public by providing education related to all aspects of paddling; stewardship support to help protect paddling environments; and sanctioning of programs and events to promote paddlesport competition, exploration and recreation.
American Whitewater
American Whitewater is the primary advocate for the preservation and protection of whitewater resources throughout the U.S., and connects the interests of human-powered recreational river users with ecological and science-based data to achieve its goals.
International Mountain Bicycling Association
The International Mountain Bicycling Association is a non-profit educational association with the mission to create, enhance and protect great places to ride mountain bikes. IMBA envisions everyone across the U.S. having access to great trails—from close-to-home rides to iconic, backcountry experiences. To achieve that, IMBA is focused on more trails close to home, working to partner with 250 communities on trails by 2025.
Winter Wildlands Alliance
Winter Wildlands Alliance is the first and only national organization working on behalf of backcountry skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, winter hikers, and other outdoor adventurers, addressing national issues that impact our winter wildlands.
The Mountaineers
The Mountaineers is a Washington State-based nonprofit that has been enriching the community by helping people explore, conserve, learn about, and enjoy the lands and waters of the Pacific Northwest and beyond for over 115 years.
American Alpine Club
The American Alpine Club is the national community organization for climbers in America. Driven by a shared passion, members come together to advocate for their interests, protect their climbing landscapes, and further climbing knowledge and competency.
Mazamas
The Mazamas promotes responsible outdoor recreation and conservation through education, outreach and advocacy. Headquartered in Portland, Ore., the Mazamas has been working to inspire everyone to love and protect mountains for nearly 130 years.
Colorado Mountain Club
The Colorado Mountain Club is the state’s leading organization dedicated to adventure, recreation, conservation and education. Founded in 1912, the CMC acts as a gateway to the mountains for novices and experts alike, offering an array of year-round activities, events and schools centered on outdoor recreation.
Surfrider Foundation
The Surfrider Foundation is a nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s ocean, waves and beaches for all people through a powerful activist network. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains more than a million supporters, activists and members, with over 200 volunteer-led chapters and student clubs in the U.S., and more than 800 victories protecting our coasts.
