Over 3,000 Signatures Collected to Protect Mountains to Sound Greenway
Over the past few weeks, we have been working on a campaign to protect the Mountains to Sound Greenway in Washington. The Greenway is a 1.5 million acre outdoor recreation paradise, with 1,600 miles of trails, the stunning Cascade Crest, excellent whitewater runs, backcountry skiing and snowshoeing, rock climbing routes, and mountain biking.
The Greenway currently has no official designation, and Outdoor Alliance has been working in partnership with the Greenway Trust, The Mountaineers, Washington Trails Association, Washington Climbers Coalition, the Access Fund, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, and American Whitewater to protect outdoor recreation in this stunning landscape. Our collective goal started at 1,000 signatures, but with the support of a large and enthusiastic outdoor recreation community in Washington, we quickly exceeded this mark and increased our goal to 3,000. We gathered over 3,200 signatures petitioning Congress to recognize the Greenway as an incredible resource for all those who love to camp, climb, mountain bike, and paddle.
